Billy Rize was born & raised in Patras, Greece, where he started writing his first English lyrics at the age of 13, mainly influenced by pop/rock artists of the 90s & 00s era like The Cranberries, Radiohead, RHCP, Green Day, Pink, James Blunt.
In 2018, he started co-operating with guitarist Efraim Zarifis, and together they began recording their first tracks.
In June 2019, his Radiohead cover No Surprises produced by quiet is included in Grecospectiva 90s, a collection of 90s global hits, with many popular Greek artists taking part in it. In December 2019, his Santa Claus is Coming to Town cover is also included in Grecospectiva Christmas.
In 2020, he is about to release his debut studio album, under the title “Rising Sun”. His music is characterized as pop/rock/atmospheric with a contemporary dance touch. “What If You’re Wrong” is the first single of the “Rising Sun” album. It is a pop/dance song, written by Efraim Zarifis & Billy Rize, produced by ELIOT. The song reflects on the contradiction among the human feelings & the social injustices, as it is roving around an uplift/dance tune. “Ta Pedika Mas Onira” is the second greek single of his debut album, an emotional ballad written by Billy Rize & Aga Mitrovgenis.
On March 2020, his third single is released under the title “Sunset“. Written by Efraim Zarifis & Billy Rise, produced by ELIOT.
In March 2021, his debut studio album under the title Rising Sun is released. His music is characterized as dream/pop with a contemporary dance touch.
