Lia Hide – Geneoktonia

16.00

Lia Hide was commissioned to compose the music for the Dance Drama ‘Genoktonia‘ (the Greek word for Genocide) which was conceived, directed and performed by Pavlos Kourtidis and his Dance Company. As the story of the Pontiac Genocide unfolds, the music is dark, gloomy, yet powerful and beat driven, filled with emotions and sounds of Asia Minor, Pontos and Greece. With the piano as the central stone of the compositions, electronic soundscapes are weaved around the traditional instruments used (Duduk, Lyre, Ntaouli, Nehi).
The show received enthusiastic reviews and was invited to many important festivals during its run (2018-2019).
