runes

Runes is a singer/songwriter from Greece based in Manchester, UK. With a passion for writing and performing music, Runes has managed to play in numerous festivals in Greece, tour in the UK as well as compose and produce music for other artists.

Runes has written, produced and released three albums ( ORPHIC, REVIVAL and PANIC ATTACK ) and has recently joined forces with amour records to release his latest work.

Having studied classical piano and Byzantine vocals as well as other instruments and production techniques, Runes has decided to unite different genres to create electronic music with an ambient sound through unique rhythms and instruments. He writes his own music and lyrics and he also does a lot of his own production and mixing. Runes ambition is to unite music and design by creating visuals, artwork and video clips, all self produced and edited, as well as spread his message of love towards an ethereal way of living.

Having recently moved back to Greece, from living in the UK for the past six years, Runes‘ s goal through his music is to explore the different meanings that people give to different situations in their lives and, through that, create a space where music and design help you travel to another world without rules and limitations, where the imagination can run free.

We met Runes as he collaborated with our Grecospectiva 90s as a guest (w/ELIOT, Shakespeares Sister’s Stay), later as a solo artist for Grecospectia Christmas (Happy Xmas-War is Over – John Lennon) and Grecospectiva 80s (Smalltown Boy & Voyage Voyage), so we could not help but ask for more and so will you.

His  ingle ‘And What’ is a question you might have often asked yourselves. Bright Electronica, tricky trip-pop, brilliant beats, gutty beats and the quest for one’s self. Impeccable signing through layered vocals and the roughness of the simplicity of having the right to love who you choose ’You Hurt When Two Boys Kiss”?.

November 2020 he released his latest album ‘Ardour‘ from Amour Records and the same titled treck as his second single of the album.

Ardour‘ means great passion. Passion about the things in our lives that need to be said, the world around us and all the injustices we see every day. …about love and how we crave it but we don’t give it. …about nature and how we’ve hurt her. It’s about us!
